What I collect
Email addresses that you give me voluntarily through a signup form. I use them to send occasional updates about new recipes and the cookbook, and nothing else.
I use Mailchimp to send my emails. It stores your address on my behalf and does not use it for anything else.
Messages you send through the contact form or by email, which I keep only as long as needed to answer you. Contact form messages are read by an automated filter that keeps spam and sales pitches out of my inbox, and are then deleted from the website. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible check that tells people from bots. Turnstile is covered by the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Basic traffic information collected by my hosting provider, such as which pages were requested and roughly where in the world the request came from. This is how any website works and it is not tied to your name.
What you type into the search box, just the words and how many things matched, with nothing about who typed them. It tells me what people are looking for that I have not put on my shelves yet.
Measurement information, but only if you agree to it. That is the section below.
Cookies, and the bar at the bottom of the screen
The first time you visit, a bar appears asking whether you accept cookies. Until you press Accept, none of the tools below are loaded and none of their cookies are set. If you press Decline, they are never loaded, and I remember that so you are not asked again on the same device. I keep a plain daily count of how many times the bar was shown and how many people chose Accept or Decline, with nothing about who chose, so I know how much of my traffic the tools below can actually see.
If you accept, two tools run:
- Google Analytics. It tells me which pages people read, how they found the site, and roughly what part of the world they are in. I use it to decide what to write next. It is provided by Google, who process the information under their own terms.
- The Meta pixel. If I am running ads on Facebook or Instagram, this tells me whether those ads actually brought anyone here. It also allows Meta to show my ads again to people who have visited. It is provided by Meta, who process the information under their own terms.
If you accept, they also note when you do something here, such as joining my list, sending me a message, tapping a shop link, downloading a printable or using the search box, so I can see which pages actually lead somewhere. Your email address and your message are never passed to them.
Both of these place cookies in your browser. Neither one tells me your name, your email address, or anything you have not given me yourself.
You can change your mind at any time. The Cookie choices link in the footer brings the bar back so you can choose again. Clearing your browser data also resets it. Your browser's own settings can block these cookies outright, and blocking them does not break anything on this site.
Affiliate links
Some links here go to Amazon. If you click one, Amazon may set a cookie so they can credit the referral, and I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That cookie is theirs and is governed by their privacy policy, not mine. It is set by clicking, not by reading, so it happens whatever you chose on the bar above. The full affiliate disclosure explains the arrangement.
What I do not do
- I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- I do not share your email address with other companies.
- I do not ask for or store payment information. Any purchase happens on the retailer's own site under their policies.
- I do not run any of this before you have said yes to it.
Your choices
Every email I send has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also write to me at any time and ask me to delete your address and any messages you have sent. I will do it and confirm when it is done.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over the information a site holds about you, including the right to ask what there is and to ask for it to be deleted. Ask me through the contact page and I will answer.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, I will update this page and change the date at the top.

Privacy questions can go through the contact page.
