Travel Refrigerator/Freezer

I don’t leave home without it. It keeps my food safely frozen or refrigerated. Here are the fridges I trust and the batteries that keep them running when there’s no outlet.

Which battery goes with which BougeRV fridge

  • CRD2 V2.0 dual zone, 52 qt: the 240 Wh detachable battery comes in the box and slides in with no cables, for about 18 hours per charge. Add a second 240 Wh battery to swap in for longer trips.
  • CRD2 V2.0 dual zone, 61 qt: the battery isn’t included. Add the BougeRV 240 Wh detachable battery, which slides in with no cables, for about 20 hours per charge.
  • CRS, 63 qt: plug it into the BougeRV 266 Wh portable power station, about 17 hours in ECO mode, or either Jackery.
  • CRS dual zone, 79 qt: plug it into the BougeRV 266 Wh portable power station or either Jackery.
  • 23 qt (my original fridge): plug it into the BougeRV 266 Wh portable power station or either Jackery.

The Jackerys work with every fridge here. They plug into the fridge’s power cord, and they keep your phone and small appliances going too.

  • Jackery Explorer 500 v2 (512 Wh): about twice the capacity of the BougeRV station, good for weekend trips.
  • Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 (1,070 Wh): the biggest, for multi-day trips or a power outage at home.

Runtimes are the manufacturer’s numbers in ECO mode. Hot weather and opening the lid often will shorten them.

The rest of the house

Same idea as the food. Read the label, buy the shorter list, and keep the one that works.
