Glass storage
Jars and containers, in more sizes than one card can hold. Glass because it does not hold onto smells, does not stain, and you can see what is in it without opening it.
Honest disclosure. Some of the links on this page are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. I only list things I bought with my own money and kept. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
Every Amazon link opens in its own tab, so this page stays open right where you left it.
Jars
Small storage jars, attached lids
The lids are attached, so the lid is never in a different drawer than the jar. Small sizes for the things you only make a little of: a fresh blend, the last of the stock, seeds you toasted tonight and want sealed by morning.
Small glass spice jars
Four ounce jars with shaker lids, all the same size. Uniform jars make a drawer usable. Labels and a marker matter more than you expect.
Wide mouth canning jars
Pint and quart. Broth, beans, cut vegetables, blends, leftovers. Wide mouth is worth the small premium because you can get a hand in.

Containers
Glass storage containers
I moved away from plastic for anything hot or oily. Glass with a locking lid, oven safe if you can find it.

What I keep in them
Blends made in one afternoon, stock from the Sunday roast, and the two trays of vegetables that become the rest of the week.
